A major Shiva shrine on the bank of the Baitarani at Aradi in Bhadrak, roughly 150 feet high. An earlier wooden temple credited to Raja Niladri Samara Singha Mohapatra was replaced between 1830 and 1840 by the present masonry structure raised by Harihara Bhanja of Kanika and his chief queen Satyabhama Patadei, using stone quarried at Lalitgiri.
A ploughing peasant is said to have struck a black stone that bled milk and was found hooded by a cobra; the king then dreamt of Akhandalamani's arrival and built the first wooden shrine over it.
