A 17th-century Mahankali temple at Shah Ali Banda in Hyderabad's old city, about a kilometre from the Charminar, associated with the brothers Madanna and Akkanna who served the Golconda ruler Tana Shah as prime minister and commander-in-chief. It is one of the principal starting points of the city's Bonalu procession.
The brothers are remembered as worshipping here every morning before going to court, and the shrine is said to have been shut after their deaths until it was revived in the last century.
