History & significance

A 23-acre BAPS Swaminarayan complex in Gandhinagar built without steel or iron, from 6,000 tonnes of pink sandstone, with 97 carved pillars, 17 domes and 264 sculpted figures around a gold-leafed image of Swaminarayan. It also houses exhibition halls, gardens and a water show.
