History & significance

Built by the Sri Maruthi Bhaktha Samajam Trust, this Chennai temple holds a 32-foot Hanuman carved from a single granite block, among the tallest such images in India, beneath a 90-foot tower. The Kanchi seer Chandrashekarendra Saraswati installed the idol in 1989, and the state endowments department took over administration in 2013.
