A Buddhist temple at Ganegama near Pelmadulla in the Ratnapura District whose history is traced to King Devanampiya Tissa and which Parakramabahu VI completed as a full temple in honour of his mother Sunethradevi; its name is said to recall monks brought from the Arammana country of Myanmar under Vijayabahu I to restore the order after Chola rule. Its Bodhi tree is held to be one of the thirty-two saplings of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, and the largest of them.
