A group of Jain temples at Arang, of which the late 11th-century Bhand Dewal is the principal survivor, built under the Haihaya rulers of the region. The sculpted tirthankara images and brick and stone detailing record Arang's standing as a joint Jain and Hindu religious centre in medieval Chhattisgarh.
