The tutelary goddess of Arrah, whose name the town is said to carry, enshrined at Sheesh Mahal Chowk in Bhojpur district and revered as a siddha pitha alongside the 108 Shakti Pithas. The present temple was established in 2005 and a 108-foot structure was under construction as of 2022.
It is told that Rama and Lakshmana bathed and worshipped here with Vishvamitra on the way to Janakpur, and that Yudhishthira installed the goddess's image during the Pandavas' exile.
