History & significance

A temple and museum complex on South Bridge Road in Chinatown, completed in 2007 to enshrine a relic venerated as a tooth of the Buddha; its abbot Ven. Shi Fa Zhao rejected nine earlier proposals before settling on a northern Chinese design drawn from Tang-dynasty Buddhist architecture, with Japanese and Tibetan touches in some rooms.
