Jain temples at Chandrawati village on the left bank of the Ganga near its confluence with the Gomti, about 23 km from Varanasi, where the surviving architectural remains are assigned to the ninth and tenth centuries and an inscription of 1091 records grants under the Gahadavala king Chandradeva. A. C. L. Carlleyle surveyed and documented three Jain temples on the site in 1877.
Jain tradition places three of Chandraprabha's five kalyanakas here, and local memory credits the founding of Chandrawati to a ruler named Domana Deva.
