A small temple on a round hillock near Lobesa, founded in 1499 by Ngawang Chogyal, fourteenth abbot of Ralung, on a site blessed by his cousin Drukpa Kunley. It is Bhutan's best known fertility shrine: women come for blessings to conceive and for names for unborn children, and pilgrims are touched on the head with a wooden phallus that Kunley is said to have brought from Tibet.
Tradition holds that Drukpa Kunley subdued a demoness here with his magic thunderbolt of wisdom and sealed her in a rock, and that he and his dog Sachi passed into heaven, their reclining images now enshrined in the prayer hall.
