A 13th-century Krishna temple at South Chittoor near Ernakulam, founded by the Cheranelloor Swaroopam, with a square sanctum under a copper-plated pyramidal roof in the Kerala manner. It has been administered by the Cochin Devaswom Board since independence.
A young member of the founding family, Narayanan Kartha, is said to have dreamed that Krishna promised to travel with him inside an umbrella and to settle wherever it was set down, and the temple was raised on that spot.
