History & significance

Begun in 1973 as a Shiva shrine on a hillock at the edge of Delhi's Bengali colony, with the Kali temple added in 1984 and terracotta ornament worked between 2006 and 2009. Its Durga Puja, held since 1977, is among the largest in Delhi, and the complex also runs a Bengali library, language classes and an idol-making atelier.
