Da Parbatia, Tezpur, Sonitpur, Assam · 26.6313°, 92.7575°
The oldest datable temple remains in Assam, exposed at Tezpur when the 1897 earthquake destroyed a later Ahom-period brick temple built over them and excavated in 1924. The surviving carved stone door frame, with the river goddesses Ganga and Yamuna on its jambs, is regarded as the finest and earliest sculpture in the state and is protected by the ASI.
