A Patiala gurdwara on the ground of the old village of Lehal, where Guru Tegh Bahadur stayed beneath a banyan tree on 24 January 1672. Raja Amar Singh laid out a memorial garden on the spot, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh had a proposed railway line moved so the tree would survive, and Maharaja Yadavindra Singh built the present shrine and sarovar between 1930 and 1942.
The villagers of Lehal are said to have begged the Guru to come because a mysterious sickness was killing them, and devotees still hold the water of the sarovar to be healing.
