A Ganesha shrine at Redi in coastal Maharashtra, about 30 km from Vengurla, built around an image dug out of the shore near Rewati port in 1976. The idol stands roughly 6 ft high and is dwibhuja, two-armed rather than the usual four; the mouse that serves as his vahana was found two months later.
A local man, Sadashiv Kambli, is said to have seen the buried Ganesha in a dream and persuaded villagers to dig it out of the seashore.
