History & significance

A Burmese-style Theravada temple on a twenty-hectare campus in Namsai district, completed in 2010 at the initiative of the local MLA Chowna Mein. The World Tripitaka Foundation is developing it as India's first international Tripitaka centre, and it hosts the Kathina Civara Dana, Sangken and Loi-Krathong observances of the Tai Khamti community.
