The second largest temple in Ujjain, built in the nineteenth century by Bayaji Bai Shinde, wife of the Maratha ruler Daulatrao Scindia, around a silver-clad marble image of Krishna. At Harihar Parva the Mahakaleshwar procession is brought here so that Shiva and Krishna may meet, and Janmashtami is its great festival.
