A hilltop Hanuman shrine about 11 km above Gangtok at some 2,195 m, raised over a sacred stone by the administrator Appaji Pant in 1950 and completed in 1952; the Indian Army later took over the surrounding land and maintains it, and it commands a wide view of the Kangchenjunga range.
Hanuman is said to have set down to rest at this spot while carrying the Sanjeevani herb from Dunagiri to revive Lakshmana.
