One of the four great Narayan shrines of the Kathmandu valley, ascribed to the Licchavi king Haridutta in the 5th century and rebuilt in the 18th. Its courtyard is set with images of Garuda and Mahalaxmi, and its idols have been stolen and recovered more than once.
