One of the largest Krishna temples in the world, opened in May 1997 by President Shankar Dayal Sharma, with a gold-plated dhwaja-stambha 17 m high and a gilded kalasha shikhara of 8.5 m. Besides daily worship and free prasadam it runs the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which provides school meals across India.
