A Digambara Jain pilgrimage complex at Hastinapur founded in 1972 by the nun Gyanmati, laid out as a 250-foot circular model of Jambudvipa as described in Jain cosmology, with a 101-foot Mount Sumeru of pink marble at its centre. The model was completed in 1985 and the site is now a major teaching centre for Jain cosmography.
What follows is the temple’s own traditional account, transmitted through liturgy and local memory. It is recorded here as tradition, not as attested history.
Gyanmati is said to have seen the structure of the universe in a vision while meditating in 1965, which she later matched against the cosmographical scriptures and reproduced here.
