History & significance

A modern Kali temple at Chira Chas in Bokaro raised between July 2010 and July 2012 by Aashiyaan Estate Developers at the initiative of Shivananda Sinha. Laid out on a pentagonal lotus plan with five petal-shaped entrances, it runs over 160 feet long under a 90-foot stupa, with a prayer hall of more than 4,000 square feet in the basement.

Sthala katha — the legend

Devotees hold that the goddess grants the wishes of those who pray here, and a cobra found during the digging of the foundations was taken as an auspicious sign of Shiva.
