A rare temple whose fabric spans two Kannada dynasties: a late Rashtrakuta vimana and closed hall of the mid-tenth century, fronted by an open hall added around 987 under the founding Western Chalukya king Tailapa II. Its shrines to Surya and Narasimha sit alongside the main Shiva sanctum.
