A Jain temple inside Belgaum fort built about 1204 by Birchiraja, an officer of the Ratta ruler Kartavirya IV, under the guidance of the monk Subhachandrabhattarakadeva; its black image of Neminatha stands beneath a carved lotus ceiling. Inscriptions of 1205 recording further work are now with the Royal Asiatic Society in Mumbai.
