A Ganesha temple in Chittoor district built in the early 11th century under the Chola emperor Kulottunga I and expanded in 1336 under the Vijayanagara rulers. The image stands in a well that never runs dry and is administered today by the Andhra Pradesh endowments department through a trust board.
Three disabled brothers digging a well are said to have struck a hard object from which blood gushed; they were healed on the spot, and the self-manifested Ganesha has stayed in the water ever since, the image reportedly growing so that its old silver armour no longer fits.
