History & significance

A goddess temple at Karikkode near Thodupuzha in Idukki district, believed to be about 460 years old, where Bhadrakali presides with subordinate shrines to Shiva and Ganesha.

Sthala katha — the legend

Tradition holds that a raja of Vadakkumkoor undertook long penance and prayer to bring the Kodungallur Bhagavathy to this temple.
