History & significance

A ridge-top shrine near Almora set among huge rock formations, with a cave-like sanctum, an eternal flame and a continuously burning dhuni. The present structure was built in 1948, and the site drew Swami Vivekananda in the 1890s and later became a landmark of the Hippie trail.
