A Kali temple in the town of Araria whose image was first housed in a thatched hut in 1884; work on the present building began in 1987 and finished in 2011, funded by donations and public subscription. At 152 feet it is claimed to be the tallest Kali temple in the world, and it has been managed since the early 1970s by Sarojanand Dixit, a former footballer known as Nanu Baba.
