Khatu, Sikar, Rajasthan · 27.3640°, 75.4026°
One of Rajasthan's most visited shrines, in Sikar district, where the head of Barbarika is believed to be enshrined. Millions attend the Phalguna Mela, with its Nishaan Yatra procession of pilgrim banners.
Barbarika, grandson of Bhima, gave his head to Krishna before the Kurukshetra war and was blessed to be worshipped as Shyam in the Kali Yuga; a local ruler is said to have found the buried image after a dream.
