Rawalpindi's principal working Hindu temple, raised in 1897 in the Saddar quarter by two local businessmen, the brothers Kanji Mal and Ujagar Mal Ram Rachpal. Shut during the Partition violence and reopened in 1949, it now serves some 7,000 Hindus of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and has been restored with Punjab government funding since 2018.
