History & significance

The Indian seat of the Nyingma monastery of Mindrolling, re-established near Clement Town in Dehradun in 1965 by Khochhen Rinpoche and a small group of monks after the loss of the original monastery in Tibet. It houses the Ngagyur Nyingma College, one of the largest Buddhist institutes in India, and a 190-foot stupa dedicated to world peace that Khochhen Rinpoche inaugurated in 2002.
