Built under Bhima I of the Solanki dynasty in 1026–27, this goddess temple stands close to the celebrated Sun Temple at Modhera. Modheshwari Mata is the clan deity of the Modh community, and the shrine fills at Chaitra Navaratri.

The goddess Parvati is said to have appeared here as Modheshwari with eighteen arms to destroy the demon Karnat, who was ravaging the village.
