A bathing pool on the Lohit river that is one of the best-known Hindu pilgrimage sites in Arunachal Pradesh, drawing large crowds at Makar Sankranti. The original kund was buried by the 1950 Assam earthquake, after which boulders settled into a ring in the riverbed and sadhus re-established the site in the 1970s.
Parashurama, his axe stuck fast to his hand after killing his mother Renuka, is said to have dipped his hands here, whereupon the axe fell away and his sin was washed off.
