History & significance

The death temple of Jagaraga in Buleleng, dedicated to Durga and Shiva and thought to have been founded in the twelfth century. Destroyed during the Dutch intervention of 1849, it was rebuilt from 1865 and is known for dense north Balinese wall carving that includes reliefs of early aeroplanes and motor cars.
