Karangasem, Bali · -8.3915°, 115.6313°
The first and lowest of the seven temples of the Pura Lempuyang complex, standing about 603 m up the south-western flank of Mount Lempuyang in Karangasem, with Pura Lempuyang Luhur at the summit. Epigraphs record a ruler named Jayacakti being sent to build it in the late tenth century, and worship on this mountain is held to predate most Hindu temples on Bali; the temple was restored in 2001.
