The principal seat of the Radha Vallabh Sampradaya in Vrindavan, built in 1585 by Sundardas Bhatnagar under the guidance of Hith Harivansh Mahaprabhu with support from Akbar's court. It is among the oldest surviving temples of the town.
The image is said never to have been carved but to have been given directly by Shiva to a devotee named Atmadev.
