Amritsar, Punjab · 31.6770°, 74.7549°
The Ram Tirath site west of Amritsar, rebuilt in 2016 as a large memorial complex around a gold-plated image of the sage Valmiki. It is the most important pilgrimage centre of the Valmiki community in Punjab.
Valmiki's ashram here is said to have sheltered Sita after her exile from Ayodhya, and to be where her twin sons Lava and Kusha were born.
