A Vishnu temple rebuilt in 1698 by the Chitradurga chief Baramappa Nayaka after the earlier structure was destroyed by Aurangzeb's armies in 1696, as recorded by a Kannada inscription at the site and documented by Benjamin Lewis Rice. Now an ASI-protected monument, it retains an entrance mukhamantapa, yali pillars and a moulded frieze.
