Annavaram, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh · 17.2833°, 82.3833°
A hilltop shrine on Ratnagiri in Kakinada district, first built in 1891 and rebuilt in stone in 1933–34. It is one of the busiest pilgrimage centres in Andhra Pradesh, visited above all for the collective performance of the Satyanarayana Vratam, especially in the month of Karthika.
The hill is said to be a son of the mountain Meru and his wife Menaka, blessed by Vishnu, on whom Satyanarayana chose to manifest.
