History & significance

A modern Digambara Jain pilgrimage temple near Indapur, opened in 2011 and built to a South Indian design. Its principal image is a 27-foot granite figure of Munisuvrata weighing about thirty tons, carved over two years from stone quarried near Bengaluru; the gilded facade has earned it the local name of the Golden Temple.
