A Shakti shrine inside Amer Fort near Jaipur, established in 1604 by Raja Man Singh I, with carved pillars and an image cut from a black stone slab. It is a major centre of worship during Navratri and part of a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Man Singh I is said to have been divinely instructed to retrieve the goddess from the sea at Jessore, and the image was carved from the stone slab, or shila, that he recovered.
