History & significance

Guwahati's temple to Khatushyamji, begun in late 2009 by the head priest Gopal Sharma with support from the city's Shyam devotees and consecrated over a seven-day ceremony ending 14 April 2016. Its subsidiary shrines take in Ganesha, Hanuman, Shiva, Lakshmi, Rani Sati and Santoshi Mata.
