A 16th-century Shiva temple in Devgad taluka approached by a rock-cut passage some 250 yards long and fifty feet deep; the Angre admirals of the Maratha navy enlarged it through the 18th century and a sabha mandap was added in 1780, while its four-armed image seated on a bull is of solid silver said to weigh about a hundred kilograms and a bell taken from a captured Portuguese ship in 1791 hangs at the eastern gate.
