A Kali temple opposite the Baradari Gardens in Patiala, begun in 1936 and completed in 1938 by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, who had the six-foot images of Maa Kali and the Paawan Jyot brought from Bengal. The goddess is kept as a kul devi by many families and the shrine draws large crowds through the Navratras.
