A Shakta temple near Berhampur built in 1937 around a roughly carved one-legged, four-armed image of Bhairavi turned up by a plough in a nearby field. Its precinct holds 108 subsidiary shrines, including the twelve jyotirlingas, Vaishno Devi, the Dashavatara and Jagannath with his siblings.
Devotees hold that Bhairavi will ride out with the Kalki avatar at the close of the Kali Yuga to restore dharma.
