A Mahayana Buddhist temple south of Prambanan, dated by the Rukam inscription to between 842 and 850 and understood as a dedication to Queen Pramodhawardhani, whose name the site carries. Its main shrine rises 27 m and its base is carved with bas-reliefs illustrating Pancatantra and Jataka fables; reconstruction, delayed by the 2006 earthquake, finished in December 2011.
