A BAPS Swaminarayan mandir standing directly on the beach at Tithal in Valsad district, begun in 1991 and inaugurated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, with carved images of Swaminarayan alongside Shiva, Parvati, Ganesha, Krishna and Hanuman; it has become a fixture of visits to the beach.
