A tantric temple of the goddess Tara in Birbhum district with an adjoining cremation ground, revered as a mahapitha and among the busiest pilgrimage sites in West Bengal.
The temple is inseparable from the tantric saint Bamakhepa, who worshipped here and lived in the cremation ground beside the Dwarka river.
