History & significance
One of the oldest Hindu temples in Sikkim, built in 1935 on land granted by the Chogyal and expanded into a temple complex between 1945 and 1947. Housing shrines to most major deities, it is the main gathering point for Gangtok's Hindu community, with Maha Shivaratri and Bala Chaturdasi as its chief festivals.
