A 49-metre pagoda in Naypyidaw built by the city's development committee as a full replica of the Mahabodhi Temple at Bodh Gaya, its principal Buddha image consecrated in May 2014 and the pagoda finished in 2015. The grounds also reproduce the sites of the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, first sermon and passing, for worshippers who cannot make the pilgrimage to India.
